I wonder if The Dude and other dude-likes are a new category. Maybe software really does become more like Industrial Design with each of us building factories (where necessary)... and doing all the re-design and maintenance that requires as times change and new things are built. New lines to construct, et. al.
Software Factories is an old term, with out-dated ideas. Maybe Software Factories get's a new definition with what we're learning from all The Young Dudes.
i think a lot of ppl r doing this rn ... automating the SLDC ... idk if the LLM will not need that in the future ... to me the dude is gonna b that layer ... that shell around the coding machine (Claude + Opus) that puts the ghost of me in the process ... as the agent improves and the model improves idk how much of the Dude would be needed ... so far it surely doesnt vibe code like a pro without my ghost
